THREE MUST HAVE RV UPGRADES
Sorry to leave you hanging, I haven’t updated our blog in a year! So, not to confuse anyone, we’ve made a BIG change. Last summer, we stopped full-time RV travel and settled into a house again. But! We knew we wanted to continue traveling the country, but wanted a smaller RV. We DOWNSIZED our 43’ toyhauler to a 22’ travel trailer. This would allow us to fit in so many more places, plus the smaller size was more manageable if I wanted to travel solo with the kids.
It was love at first sight when I learned about the Ember brand. It’s a female owned company, who truly stands for quality and stands by their product! Our Ember Overland 190MDB is built for off-grid adventures, and although tiny on space, it’s big enough for our family of 5 to travel comfortably! Once we brought our new trailer home, we knew right away that there were 3 MUST HAVE upgrades that we had to have! We have years of RVing experience under our belts and can say with certainty that these are the most necessary items that any one should add to their RV. These are all about safety, health, and well-being.
RVLock Keyless Handles
Did you know that most RV’s come from the factory with locks that can be opened with the same key? That’s a scary thought! One MUST have item for safety is replacing the factory door lock. We love RVLock because of the superior quality, durable construction, and convenience features. Plus, it takes only minutes to install. The RV Lock can be programmed with your custom pin- and you won’t have to worry about having keys on you! We also love the having the key fob- meaning we can lock and unlock our RV from a distance if our hands are full. We have the V4 RVLock on our door of our new trailer, which can be purchased here. We also have the GripMax Entry Handle on our back storage door, which can be purchased here.
Clearsource Ultra Water Filter
We’ve travelled all over the country, and can attest that the water quality is not great in most places. Filtered water is a MUST HAVE for our health. Clearsource has revolutionized water filtration with these filters. They are hospital grade, and water is filtered through 3 stages down to 0.2 microns to remove or reduce sediment, lead, chlorine, pesticides, bacteria, and even viruses! Installation is very simple We previously had the Clearsource Ultra in our large toy hauler, but were so excited to find their new Ultra MINI! It’s everything offered in the Ultra, but just a smaller size to fit in tiny spaces. Check it out for yourself, click here.
Tochta Mattress
Our Ember 190MDB is the perfect size for our family- there are a set of double bunks for the kids, and a queen size murphy bed for us. The queen mattress has a unique hinge in it to make it fold up easily in the space. But, it was so uncomfortable, just as most standard RV mattress are. We knew we had to upgrade to a better quality mattress to save our sleep! Tochta is a mattress company that can truly customize any mattress need. Any size or dimension, depth, and even can make custom corner cuts. We had Tochta mattresses in our last RV and the quality and comfort are the best. I was SHOCKED when I found out that we could get a mattress with a custom size hinge fold for the murphy bed, made by Tochta. This is a game changer for our comfort and well-being as we travel! You can learn more about this amazing company and customize a mattress for yourself here.
These three items were non-negotiable upgrades for us. Our safety, health and sleep are very important, especially while traveling! What are your RV must haves?
