East Texas Camping: Bushman's RV Park & Kiepersol Winery
Are you visiting East Texas, or maybe planning on passing through? Bushman’s RV Park is a great place to stay and rest awhile!
This was our first official RV park stay since becoming full time RVers. We researched parks in the east Texas area and are so glad we found Bushman’s! This park had so many families there, and our kids loved playing with other kids in the park. There are many kid-friendly amenities that they enjoyed too: swimming pool, playground, and a fishing pond.
Located in Bullard, TX (about 15 minutes south of Tyler), it is conveniently located to many east Texas cities and locations. The park itself offers spacious sites with full hookups, and the country pasture views are simply beautiful.

Kiepersol Winery & Restaurant
If you are looking to have a unique experience while camping, be sure to visit the nearby Kiepersol Winery. Bushman’s RV Park is actually owned by Kiepersol, and park guests get half priced tour tickets!
We were able to go on a Harvest Tour at the vineyard to learn about the history of the family-operated vineyard and the process of wine-making as well as tour their wine making facilities. The tour is family friendly, our kids were able to sample grapes and grape juice! Check their website for information on what tours they are currently offering, click here.
The best part of the tour was learning about the history of the family and their business. The vineyard is owned by Marnelle and her sister, Velmay. Their father passed down the debt-free business to them as a gift. The stories of how they were able to save money and build their business were incredible and inspiring! You could tell by the heartfelt way Marnelle tells the story of the vineyard and her family legacy, this place is truly special. I’ll leave the rest of the story details for you to experience, and hope that you get a chance to visit soon!
Aside from the winery tour, we were also able to experience the Kiepersol restaurant! (FYI, they also have an onsite Bed and Breakfast!) The food was delicious! And, they even had homemade chicken fingers for the kids. The adults were able to have a wine tasting of various blends ($3 each). Chris ordered the fish and chips, and I had the open faced filet sandwich (which was SO GOOD!) We all split the molten chocolate lava cake for dessert, and let me just say it was one of the best desserts I’ve had in a long time.
We truly appreciate their hospitality and we highly recommend a visit for anyone who is planning on visiting east Texas. Your hearts will be warmed by the story of this place, welcomed by the staff, and merry from the wine and spirits! Thank you to Kiepersol for hosting us!
